Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The CDC has recommendations for infection control during construction,
renovation, repair, and demolition in its Guidelines for
Environmental Infection Control in Health-Care Facilities,

The Center for Health Design supports health care and design
professionals in their efforts to improve the quality of
health care through evidence-based design. The Center’s
web site has a list of Exemplary Facilities that have used
evidence-based design at some level to create healing environments.

Facility Guidelines Institute
The Institute publishes Guidelines for Design and Construction
of Health Care Facilities. The guidelines are used by more
than 42 states and several federal agencies to guide health
care facility design and construction in the US. Included
are requirements for inpatient and outpatient surgical facilities
and related services and systems.
